Overview

MD Mature Jak Curry is a ready-to-eat Sri Lankan curry made from mature jackfruit (kiri kos), sold in a 565 g can. Kiri kos is the creamy, mild jackfruit curry of the Sri Lankan rice-and-curry table: heat it and serve it with rice, roti or string hoppers.

How to use

Open the can, tip the curry into a saucepan and warm it gently over low heat, stirring now and then, or warm it in a microwave-safe bowl until hot. Serve with steamed rice, string hoppers, roti or bread. Do not heat in the can.

What it is

Mature jackfruit (kos) cooked as a Sri Lankan curry. Kiri kos is traditionally simmered in coconut milk, which gives it a rich, creamy gravy, and the mature fruit is firmer and more filling than young polos. The can is ready to eat, so no cooking is needed beyond warming it.

Serving ideas

Alongside rice with dhal and a sambol; with string hoppers or hoppers for breakfast; spooned into a roti or bread roll; added to a rice-and-curry plate with a papadam.
