Thiru Jaffna Style Curry Powder (Roasted) is a hot, dark Sri Lankan curry powder in the Jaffna tradition, made from dried red chillies, coriander, fennel, curry leaves, chickpea, pepper, cumin, turmeric, cinnamon and rambai, in a 900 g jar. The label rates it “Hot” and states no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The ingredients are plant-based.

What it is
A roasted, dark red-brown curry powder in the style of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka. Unlike milder roasted blends, this one includes dried red chilli in the mix and is labelled Hot, so it carries heat as well as aroma.
How to use
The label gives no cooking directions. As a roasted curry powder, it is typically stirred into meat, fish or vegetable curries after the onions and before the liquid; because it already contains chilli and is rated Hot, start with a small amount and add more to taste.
